Department of IROM

The Department of Information, Risk, and Operations Management (IROM) consists of three academic disciplines: Information Management, Operations Management and Risk Analysis and Decision Making.

The IROM Department has several outstanding and nationally ranked programs including the Undergraduate Management Information Systems program (#5 by U.S. News and World Report), the MBA Information Systems program (#3 by U.S. News and #1 by College Choice), the Undergraduate Product/Operations Management program (#11 by U.S. News), the Supply Chain Management Center (#9 by U.S. News), the MBA Productions/Operations Management program (#16 by U.S. News), and the MS Business Analytics program (#3 by Master's in Data Science).  Learn more about IROM

Prabhudev Konana and James Scott Named to the BBA Faculty Honor Roll

We are pleased to announce that both Prabhudev Konana and James Scott were named to the Fall 2017 BBA Faculty Honor Roll.

The BBA Honor Roll is an initiative of the Undergraduate Business Council (UBC, the student leadership group) to acknowledge those who perform exceptionally well in the classroom in BBA classes, thus enriching the student experience and setting a standard that we all can aspire to. The Honor Roll is selected each semester, using criteria that the UBC has developed. You can follow this link to read more about UBC criteria.

Sirkka Jarvenpaa, along with co-author Lisen Selander, have won the MIS Quarterly Paper of the Year for 2016 for their paper entitled "Digital Action Repertoires and Transforming a Social Movement Organization". To learn more about MIS Quarterly, click here.

Patrick Brockett, along with co-authors, chosen for 2015 JIR Spencer L. Kimball Writing Award

Patrick Brockett, along with co-authors, has won the 2015 JIR Spencer L. Kimball Writing Award for his paper "How to Set Rates if You Must: An Efficiency-Based Methodology for Setting Promulgated Insurance Rates with an Application to Title Insurance".

Kumar Muthuraman has been selected for membership in the UT Austin Academy of Distinguished Teachers as one of only six new members chosen this year.
